Mail Filter Setup
Outlook Express
- 1) Create Spam Folder
Right click on "Local Folders" in the folders window and select
"New Folder", then type "SPAM" in the Folder name to create a new SPAM folder. This folder
will be used to store all incoming email that is marked as "SPAM"
- 2) Create Rule for Spam Mails
Highlight "Inbox" Select "Message", "Create Rule From Message" , select "Where the Subject
line contains specific words" and "Move it to the specified folder". Then click on the link "contains
specific words" and put "SPAM". To complete setup, click "Add" and "Ok". Then click the link
"specified folder" and select the "SPAM" folder. To complete setup, Click "Ok"
All incoming email marked as "SPAM" will be moved into the SPAM folder. You will then be able to examine them later on and decide if you want to delete them.
Outlook 2000
- 1) Create Spam Folder
Right click on "Personal Folders" in the folders window and
select "New Folder", then type "SPAM" and select "Personal Folders" . A new folder
will then be created and will be used to store all incoming email that marked as "SPAM".
- 2) Create Rule for Spam Mails
Highlight "Inbox", then select "Tools","Rules Wizard", "New", select "Check
messages when they arrive" and then "Next>", select "with specific words in the subject"
then click on the link "specific words and type in "****SPAM****", then click on "specific
folder", and select "SPAM", click "Next>", then "OK" to complete
the mail filter setup.
All incoming email marked as "SPAM" will be moved into the SPAM folder. You will then be able to examine them later on and decide if you want to delete them.
